Seasonal Design

Holidays are usually some of the most enjoyable times to be active with graphic design. Whether it’s making Christmas cards, event posters, sale promotions, or apparel design, there’s a cheerful spirit and theme that is incorporated into a seasonal design. For example, this past week my class has been working on flyers for the 7th annual Blue Boo. Blue Boo is a Halloween event located on campus at Southeast Tech. Every year, kids of young ages come to Southeast to have a safe and friendly environment for Halloween.

When designing my poster for the event, I couldn’t help but feel excited with all of the creative focus on this spooky-themed composition. In a way, it gives our class to incorporate more artistic elements into the work we do. I saw plenty of examples of ghosts, bats, pumpkins, haunted houses and more all created with different styles. Maybe its just because Halloween is approaching, or maybe its just me, but there’s something to be said about how holiday or seasonal themes can bring out more creativity.
