Over the past couple of months, I’ve had a burning feeling that I needed to restructure my art presentation. If I’m as dedicated and interested at producing things as I think I am, branding seems like the next logical step. Selling shirts and art in Sioux Falls is an accomplishment, yet a source to tie those ends would be ideal. However, I didn’t like the idea of simply making a clothing brand. My catalog of work and interest covers many aspects of the creative world and I wanted that to be reflected. And after some deep thinking, Viable Psyche was born.
What does Viable Psyche mean? What does it stand for? Well, to be honest, I like leaving the idea up for interpretation. The word viable means “capable of working successfully” or “ability to germinate” when referring to plants. Psyche, on the other hand, refers to the human mind, body, and spirit. The name Viable Psyche didn’t get pulled from thin air. I consciously chose the term to reflect the growth and functionality of the human mind on some sort of external level.
I think that the most important aspect of being an artist is to find ways to be yourself while constantly offering new ideas. If someone wants to look at Viable Psyche and interpret it differently, who am I to judge? In fact, I most definitely encourage open opinions and ideas. Art should always work in mysterious ways in my humble opinion. I plan on updating more thoughts and such on the brand in the near future. Until next time, stay fresh.
