Okay, for artists it’s obvious that drawing should be a part of your creative process. But I firmly believe that sketching can be a crucial part of the process of design. Sometimes it’s easy to just jump into our software and create whatever we want right? This is something that designers should try to avoid. Not that any good doesn’t come from a spark of ideas straight into the computer, but rather that there should be an origin point for your ideas. The phrase “back to the drawing board” exists for a reason you know.
Jokes and phrases aside, traditional pencil and paper planning are obviously very important to me. In a world where it seems like digital planning is taking over, we should not forget how to transfer ideas onto paper.
